Career history: François Carrard has been a practicing attorney since 1967. He is a partner in the law firm of Carrard & Associés in Lausanne. He is a specialist in corporate law, particularly banking and finance, as well as in sports law. He is legal counsel to the International Olympic Committee, and was its former Director General from 1989 to 2003. He also specialises in international arbitration and mediation.
