Education: Graduate of the Hochschule für Wirtschafts-, Rechts- und Sozialwissenschaften (HSG) of the University of St Gallen.

Career history: Urs Schneider spent two years at LEICA, Heerbrugg, before joining the IMI/IMD (International Management Institute), Lausanne, where he held different posts from 1971 to 1984, including Administrative Director and Director of the MBA programme. He was Director of the IFCI Foundation - International Financial Risk Institute from 1985 to 2004, and has been on the academic staff of the Swiss Banking School since 1989 and has taught risk management at the International University, Geneva, since 2006.
